At Hush, our sound insulation products will enable you to reduce the amount of airborne and impact sound from your project, whether you're building a new apartment block, or installing a home cinema.
Here's what you need to think about: -
1. Airborne sound is the sound of conversations or music, whereas impact sound is the sound of footsteps, a door banging shut, or someone playing the drums. As airborne and impact sounds are different, you'll need the right sort of sound insulation products.
2. Hush floating flooring products are suitable for both new builds and refurbishments. You'll be able to find the right flooring to improve sound reduction.
3. Flooring battens are an option to create a floating flooring system. Depending on the type of build, floor and requirements, you could use Hush Batten 55 or Hush Batten 70.
4. Our ceiling and wall resilient bars can be used to dramatically improve acoustic insulation between ceilings and walls. They are easy to install, and meet or exceed the current Building Regulations, Part E, G and H. Will the Hush Bar or Hush Bar Plus best meet your sound control requirements?
5. Joist infills are designed to partially fill the space between the joists, to offer improved sound reduction. We offer the Hush Slab sound absorber and Hush Fill 60, which are both suitable for new builds and refurbishment projects.
6. Hush sound insulation systems provide all you need to make a room quieter. Depending on your exact needs, and whether you're making a new or existing building quieter, you'll find the right sound control products at Hush.
7. Sound insulation accessories are important so that the actual sound control products work properly. You'll find the right sort of adhesives, as well as the vital perimeter strips and flanking strips to ensure that unwanted sound does not leak. Firewire might also be required in conjunction with the acoustic insulation, to provide additional protection from fire.
8. If the standard Hush acoustic insulation products don't quite meet your needs, we can make the right bespoke sound reduction products for you. You might have an unusual shaped room, or want a one piece floor.
9. It's essential that you're aware of the UK Building Regulations and how they affect your project. You might need to arrange for a building inspector to check that your build meets the necessary sound insulation standards. You might want to choose sound control products that meet the Robust Details specification? As they already meet or exceed the Building Regulations standards they are not subject to sound testing.
10. If you're not sure what's involved with fitting acoustic flooring, or improving the acoustic insulation in your home, then you'll want to make sure that you consult the relevant installation guides. These show you how the Hush sound control products are fitted properly and will be effective. If you're still not sure, contact us, and we'll be able to help you.
